We warmly welcome new Easy Moves instructor, Tanya owner of Massage for Inner Health and we’re pleased to share her Instructor journey in her own words:
I have worked in community wellbeing for many years, creating programs that support people to improve their health, confidence, and connection with others.
In November last year, approaching my 50th birthday, I came across information about becoming a Strength for Life Easy Moves instructor. It resonated with me, and I completed the training in January, committing to run classes for 12 weeks regardless of numbers. During the training, I wondered whether the exercises might be too easy for some people, but I have been pleasantly surprised by how much participants enjoy the program and the benefits they experience.
When I shared the news with clients, friends, and family, the response was overwhelming. Some participants came because a friend invited them, while others were seeking a gentle way to improve their health. Many who first attended with a friend have continued coming even when their friend could not attend. Thanks to COTA, a participant found my class after their doctor recommended the Strength for Life program and they contacted COTA for local instructor details.
Our first class was held in February, and feedback has been incredibly positive. Participants have shared comments such as, “Please don’t stop these classes,” “This is the only outing I look forward to each week,” and “I’m invigorated and motivated after this class.” Others have spoken about enjoying a set time to see their friends and the positive impact on their mental wellbeing.

The classes have continued to grow, with attendance ranging from 9 to 20 participants. I recently introduced a second weekly class, giving people more flexibility around appointments and commitments.
What inspires me most is seeing the friendships, confidence, strength, and sense of belonging that develop through Strength for Life. The exercise is important, but the community connection that grows each week is equally valuable. Strength for Life has provided a wonderful opportunity to support people to stay active, connected, and engaged in their community.
Healthy Morning tea is included and a door prize which is a free ticket to the next session they attend.
