Stay Strong Tier 2 – Training

TRAINING PROGRAM

$500 excl. GST

Lead safe, effective, and engaging group sessions that build strength, balance, and confidence in older adults. This training includes water-based options for instructors with Aqua certification.

Strength for Life Stay Strong Tier 2 training gives you the skills to lead safe, effective, and engaging group sessions that build strength, balance, and confidence in older adults, including water-based options for instructors with Aqua certification.

Learn to design and deliver safe, tailored strength training programs, conduct assessments, manage risks, and create a supportive, motivating environment.

Strength for Life programs may only be delivered by accredited instructors in a Strength for Life licensed site. Following accreditation, you can deliver your Strength for Life program either:
1. On behalf of a licensed provider, or
2. As a provider-instructor (Sole Trader) with a current licence.

Whichever pathway you choose, you will have access to the Strength for Life Partner Portal, which includes resources and tools to help you build and grow successful classes.

Training details

Required Qualifications:

Certificate IV in Fitness, Aqua certification (for instructors delivering Strength for Life Aqua).

Certificate III in Fitness graduates may complete training but can only deliver Tier 2 sessions under the supervision of a qualified Certificate IV Strength for Life instructor.

Extensive theory component online + 1 day in-person practical

Self-paced online + approx. 7 hours in-person (10am – 5pm)

What you'll learn:

  • Understand the principles of progressive strength training for older adults
  • Learn how to conduct health appraisals and individual assessments
  • Develop safe, tailored exercise programs based on participant needs including warm up and practical strength and power ideas
  • Apply correct strength and balance training techniques
  • Gain skills in supervising group sessions for older adults
  • Recognise and manage risks, including falls prevention
  • Improve communication and motivation strategies for older clients
  • Learn program documentation and reporting requirements
  • Build confidence in delivering engaging, inclusive classes

Training is delivered at two locations:

207-235 Hampstead Road, Northfield

Parking is available on site for a fee or outside of the complex. Make your way to the large red and blue building marked Reception, near the front entrance. Morning tea will be provided, please bring your own lunch. An invoice will be provided at your training session.
