Strength for Life training gives you the skills and confidence to deliver safe, engaging, and rewarding sessions for older adults.
Explore the training options below to find the program that matches your qualifications and goals. After completing training, you’ll be accredited and equipped with the skills and tools to deliver safe, engaging, and rewarding sessions.
Strength for Life programs may only be delivered by accredited instructors in a Strength for Life licensed site. Following accreditation, you can deliver your Strength for Life program either:
Whichever pathway you choose, you will have access to the Strength for Life Partner Portal, which includes resources and tools to help you build and grow successful classes.

Stay Strong Tier 1 – Induction Training
Required Qualifications
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (ESSA) or Physiotherapists (APA) with tertiary qualifications.
Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy graduates with less than one year of clinical experience will need to complete the full Strength for Life Tier 2 instructor training.
Stay Strong Tier 1 – Update Training
Required Qualifications
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (ESSA) or Physiotherapists (APA) with tertiary qualifications.
Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy graduates with less than one year of clinical experience will need to complete the full Strength for Life Tier 2 instructor training.
Stay Strong Tier 2 – Training
Required Qualifications
Certificate IV in Fitness, Aqua certification (for instructors delivering Strength for Life Aqua).
Certificate III in Fitness graduates may complete training but can only deliver Tier 2 sessions under the supervision of a qualified Certificate IV Strength for Life instructor.
Stay Strong Tier 2 – Update Training
Required Qualifications
Certificate IV in Fitness, Aqua certification (for instructors delivering Strength for Life Aqua).
Certificate III in Fitness graduates may complete training but can only deliver Tier 2 sessions under the supervision of a qualified Certificate IV Strength for Life Instructor.
Better Balance – Training
Required Qualifications
Certificate IV in Fitness.

In the Centre for Physical Activity in Ageing (CPAA)

Parking is available on site for a fee or outside of the complex. Make your way to the large red and blue building marked Reception, near the front entrance. Morning tea will be provided, please bring your own lunch. An invoice will be provided at your training session.
