Strength for Life is changing lives and it could transform your community too!
Supervised strength and balance training, delivered by specially trained instructors, has been shown to improve balance, walking endurance, and overall fitness in older people. It also helps manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and depression, supporting participants to stay active, independent, and doing what they love.

Strength for Life offers a range of programs, across gym-based, seated, balance, and aqua formats, so you can choose the programs that best suit your participants and site. Programs are delivered at licensed provider sites by qualified instructors trained in Strength for Life .
There are a number of key criteria providers must meet to ensure the integrity, consistency and safety of Strength for Life programs. These will be reviewed with prospective providers in full prior to licensing.

Stay Strong Tier 1 and Tier 2
Bring safe, supervised strength and balance training to your fitness or community centre with Strength for Life Stay Strong.
Strength for Life Stay Strong Tier 1 & Tier 2 is designed for people of all fitness levels and health conditions, these safe, evidence-based programs help participants build strength, improve balance, manage chronic conditions, and enjoy a healthier, more confident life.
With hundreds of sessions running weekly, Strength for Life Stay Strong is proven, popular, and impactful. By offering Tier 1 (led by Exercise Physiologists/Physiotherapists) and Tier 2 (led by trained Fitness Instructors), you can meet a wide range of participant needs, attract referrals from healthcare providers, and make a real difference in your community.
Tier 1 sessions may attract rebates from private health funds and, in some cases, from Medicare under care plans. Some health funds also offer benefits for programs delivered by fitness instructors.
Aqua
Strength for Life Aqua brings safe, supervised water-based exercise to your fitness or community centre.
Designed for people of all fitness levels and health conditions, this fun, social, and evidence-based program helps participants build strength, improve balance, manage chronic conditions, and enjoy a healthier, more confident life, all with the added benefits of exercising in water.
Strength for Life Aqua is proven, popular, and impactful. Offering this program at your centre enables you to meet a wide range of participant needs, attract referrals from healthcare providers, and make a real difference in your community.
Easy Moves
Strength for Life Easy Moves brings pre-planned, entry-level, function-based exercise classes to your fitness or community centre.
Designed to improve flexibility, balance, strength, and joint mobility, these safe, social, and accessible classes support participants to stay independent, active, and doing what they love.
With ready-to-go programs, instructors can focus on creating welcoming, enjoyable sessions that prioritise safety, effective communication, and the social benefits of group exercise. Easy Moves helps participants build confidence, improve mobility, and enhance their overall wellbeing, while helping you attract and retain older adults in your community.
Better Balance
Strength for Life Better Balance brings safe, supportive group fitness classes to your fitness or community centre, designed as a pathway program for older adults.
Many participants may lack confidence or have little previous exercise experience. Better Balance helps them build foundational strength, balance, and stability, developing the confidence and skills to progress to other fitness programs, such as Strength for Life Stay Strong or Easy Moves.
You’ll be helping participants improve functional stability and confidence in movement, you’ll empower them to stay active, independent, and engaged in their community.
How to get started
The process of becoming a Strength for Life provider is simple and supportive.
Once you express your interest, our team will guide you through the steps:
- Confirm your eligibility
-  Provide you with an annual Licensing Agreement (fees apply; a quote will be provided)
- Advise on instructor training requirements and
- Help you set up your program(s) with the essential resources and marketing support to help you attract participants
Once your license is active and instructors are trained, you’ll be ready to deliver safe, high-quality sessions that make a real difference in your community.
