Understanding Tiers

There are two tiers of Strength for Life Stay Strong:

Tier 1

Led by Exercise Physiologists or Physiotherapists

Includes a health check before you begin by an allied health professional.  You may be able to claim a rebate through private health insurance or, in some cases, Medicare (with a care plan).  Please note, classes may also be led by a Fitness Instructor.

Tier 2

Led by Fitness Instructors

Includes a health check before you begin and a personalised exercise plan. Some private health funds may offer rebates when the sessions are run by Fitness Instructors.

How do I know which Tier is right for me?

Choosing between Tier 1 and Tier 2 is easy - follow this simple guide.

If your doctor or health care person gives you a care plan, you must go to Tier 1.

If you have complex health needs, a Tier 1 site may be best. Sometimes you may not have any medical conditions, but the Tier 1 site is closest to you, so you are welcome to attend that location.

Please check with your preferred provider if you have particular needs or preferences.

If you’re generally well or prefer a local Tier 2 site, choose Tier 2. Instructors are experienced and trained to help support your strength and fitness goals.

Program costs

Taking part in a Strength for Life program involves some costs:

  • A per-session fee, or you may be able to pay on a weekly or monthly basis

Costs can vary depending on the Strength for Life program you participate in and your provider location. If you change to a different provider, you may need to pay the health check fee again at the new site.
